Risk factors / Comorbidities

If comorbidities exist, the guideline suggests considering increasing risk category (e.g., to Category 1) — these are used to adjust very low risk only.

Loss of protective sensation (any foot)

Indicate symptoms and perform monofilament testing. The tool uses monofilament results primarily; if monofilament is not done, reported symptoms are used as suggestive.

Answer the following clinical indicators. PAD will be considered present if any PAD sign is positive (e.g., pulses absent, dependent rubor, cool foot, or significant claudication limiting mobility).

Pain in the feet or legs when walking, limiting mobility

Dependent rubor: No Yes

Cool foot: No Yes

Pedal pulses: Present Absent

History and active problems
